Ouverture publique : Chêne Centenaire de Marion Carriau et Magda Kachouche

Chêne Centenaire is a choreographic and musical duet, envisioned as a science fiction fable. Through dance narrative, an alternative end of the world is imagined, in the sense of a new beginning. We compose a two headed choreography, forming a single body which must keep moving forward. This unchanging shape is intertwined with a constant song, a two-voice chorus built from the melodies, hymns or laments of this multiple being.

Marion Carriau I founded the association Mirage in 2016. My first solo, Je suis tous les dieux, premiered in December 2018 at the CCN de Tours. Chêne Centenaire, a duet written and performed by Magda Kachouche and myself will premiere in December 2021 at the CCN de Tours. After studying at the CNDC in Angers, I performed for various choreographers: Mohammed Shafik, Les Gens d’uterpan, Mylène Benoit, Arthur Perole, Julien Prévieux and Laurent Goldring. In 2011, I met Joanne Leighton and have been involved in the creation of most of her pieces since then. At the same time, I have been studying bharata natyam at the Mandapa Centre since 2009, with Vydia, who is still my teacher to this day.

Magda Kachouche Choreographer, visual artist and performer, I am currently developing two choreographic pieces: MACCHABÉE and Chêne Centenaire. In 2018, I co-authored Diotime et les lions with Mylène Benoit. Collaborating with the choreographer since 2013, we direct the company Contour Progressif, creating participatory works (Votre Danse, Entre Soie). I co-signed the scenography for Gikochina-sa (2018) and L’Aveuglement Installation (2017). In 2018, I signed the scenography and lighting design for Je Suis Tous Les Dieux by Marion Carriau. In 2015 I founded the duo MKNM with Noémie Monier, becoming permanent artists in residence at the DOC. I regularly collaborate with other artists including Mavea Cunci and Dominique Gilliot, David Wampach, and Nina Santes.
